Interviewee: Chris Reynolds
Interviewer: Michael Romyn
Date: 28 November, 2019
Location: Littlestone Golf Club, Kent.
Recording Time: 31:55 – 33:24

Chris Reynolds: I was a member here since 1989 in the current life and when I was younger, when the motorway was – threatened to go through Ashford Golf Club for the first time, I became a member in 1969 and stayed until about 1973, by which time I’d gone to work in London and getting here was too difficult. So, fifty-year affiliation with the club and I have played here before then, before I was a member

Michael Romyn: Such a long association – is there something that stands out about Littlestone?

CR: I think the course is one of my preferred courses to play in the world. I’m very fortunate to be a member of a club, of a course that I really love. There are other courses that, there are obviously a lot of other courses that are theoretically better and more challenging and I enjoy playing those but this is where I’m quite happy - I’m quite happy playing here, really happy playing here.

MR: What aspects of the course do you like?

CR: The greens are probably some of the best greens in the country year in, year out. Throughout the winter they’re absolutely perfect. Other courses are in terrible trouble. The course for me is just an eminently playable course all year round.
